@RottenAce I'd imagine if you are dropping nuclear bombs, loudness isn't really a problem. nuclear bombs are quite loud. I think it looks cooler than a b-52
By the way, that loudness of Tu-95 is a payment for a high energy efficiency of the engines - about 82%. If you put normal jet engines, it will flight quieter, but for a shorter distance. Soviets decided that plane which carries nuclear rocket does not needs to be quiet, - such rockets could be launched from a very long distance from the target, so they've put on turboprop engines on it.
I guess Russia is proud to have the loudest military aircraft that you can hear over 2 miles away in modern military history. The B-52 is waaaay more superior than the Tu-95 anyday.
Way more adaptable? I dunno about that, the Tu-95 is used in multiple-roles that should make it at least as "adaptable" as the ancient B-52. Also you insist on that silly ridiculous argument of the engine "noise". Look pal, if you think that in our present-day world, the modern air defense systems rely, at all, on listening or hearing whether enemy aircraft might be approaching you, you live in bloody Jurassic park. The Tu-95 has the same speed of the B-52, and the range difference is marginal.
@vonkaunaz The B-52 is WAY more adaptable. It can carry missile's aswell as a far superior bomb load. Not to mention the TU-95 is based off the B-29 super fortress fuselage (WICH IS TRUE!) Not to mention the superior range of the B-52 and its far quieter.

All that means (a plane being loud) is that it alerts me quicker to go outside and record a plane flyover! :D

@RottenAce In your dreams, maybe B-52 are better. But the real fact is that they are fully equeal in all aspects. Loudest...so what?
