HD DVD players are no more. They arent making anymore hd dvds (old news). Im looking for something to do with the one I bought..it does play old dvds and makes them look a little better..but i'd rather dissect it and potentially learn something new. ::: )) I always feel like an alien when working

Toshiba Must Have A Certain Amount of their Hd-Dvd Drives Shipped To The Facotry That Makes Those This Way they would save money and labor.

That shielded cable is for LVDS digital video, not component analogue. The ic is an off-the-shelf (like most other components in this player) 28-Bit, 87.5MHz Flat Panel Display Link.
