9/11: British TV coverage: 10.26-10.36 EST

This clip hops betwixt ITV and the BBC, who took almost 3 minutes to realise that the North Tower had collapsed, despite ITV having shown it live. Even allowing for the mayhem of the day, the BBC's performance seems pretty poor in retrospect....

My son Anno was killed two months later in November 2001, aged 20. Among the many poems he wrote, I found the following:

... Don't let the smoke of New York City
cloud your eyes to the horizon.
From here it looks alight with blood and fire.
That we are moved by such desires as murder
moves me to tears.

God Bless England for standing with us when this happened. I can still remember watching tv as the US national anthem was played at Buckingham Palace and just crying. Even though America is obviously a huge country, I had this odd feeling of us kind of being alone, and when I saw our national anthem being played, I was overwhelmed by this feeling of knowing that we still had friends, and it made me feel like we weren't alone.

Thanks for posting this, it's very interesting to see how this was reported overseas. I remember one of the cable channels here (TLC maybe?) went with BBC coverage, it was interesting to see it at the time.

But unfortunately for the US, they are heavily reliant on a certain resource that is abundant in the middle east, oil, which is why they have a controlling interest there for the forseeable future. If the US could satisfy its own oil consumption, then I have no doubt whatsoever that every last troop would be pulled out immediately, and they would be left to destroy themselves.

Just because something is in the majority view, does not make it posturing, in fact, the very idea you even use that word coupled with 'empty' leads me to believe you dont quite understand the definition of the word. Posturing implies empty (or false) by proxy, so your use of the double negative makes me wonder. Your theories are theories, and have no substance.
