@zero2blur Yet again, marketing wins over quality. 3DsMax is awesome because it has history and there have been a lot of plugins developed for it. Other than that, its really clunky and unintuitive. And Maya is even more so.
@capcaunuu Autodesk claims they are the #1 selling 3D Cad Software, but we must remember that when any company buys Autocad 2D, they automatically get Inventor... And as you may know, Autocad 2D is HUGE, so Autodesk counts each 2D purchase (which gives them Inventor) as a "score"...I thought 3DsMax was supposed to be incredibly awesome?
@zero2blur I guess that says a lot. I have the same impression about most Autodesk products. I use 3DsMax a lot, and it still annoys the crap out of me. It's just too clunky and counterproductive. There are always better alternatives out there, but somehow people who buy the software in a company are not the ones actually using it, so they just choose whatever they "think' is best.
@capcaunuu I use both Inventor and Solidworks at my job. I have been testing Inventor 2011 and using Solidworks 2010. (We still use Inventor 2008 (Don't ask why, i am not in charge)) And though Inventor has some very cool features, it has some very annoying habits that AutoDesk cannot seem to break. Still, with Inventor 2011, I usually get pretty upset within 15 minutes...and thats after 6 years of using Inventor (yes I have had a lot of training and talking with tech support constantly) my .02
@capcaunuu you´re right, actually inventor is improving but it has a looooong way to be between the best CADs in his range (SolidWorks or Solidedge are far better)
And I´ve used the 3, and actually working in CATIA v5
@luca1234569 People who use Inventor will tell you inventor is best, and the same goes for every package. However...people who used both Inventor and SolidWorks will tell you that SW has certain advantages over Inventor. I wouldn't know why because I'm not proficient in either, but I have heard experienced users say it.
