  • hanz/ nutcracker is sooo cute... always have thought so as a kid. still do until now at 32. ^_^

  • I believe that the story was a book that was adapted into a ballet and then into may films. The whole bit about Hans becoming cursed is true. But what happened in the book is that Clara fell asleep, which sent her back, so she tells the Nutcracker that she will love him no matter what his form is and this breaks the spell, thus he shows up at Drosselmyr's and they meet again.

  • what peace of music is in the minute 3:35 please

  • @empress4lyphe If you're looking at this from a female perspective then yes, you're right, but if you're looking at this film from a male point of view, she broke his heart and he could not defend her in the end!! That's the way I feel about this ending anyway.

  • @cancanwench I think this film overall was symbolic of her growing up. Especially the part where she says she can't stay in the land of the dolls, it was like she was admitting one day she will grow uninterested in dolls and move onto other things. This is my favourite Christmas film

  • @cancanwench i agree

  • In the story of the ballet it's the nutcracker who slays the mouse king, and in this he did appear dead when he fell from the tree. But hans didn't change human afterward, which implies that his task was incomplete, there was more to it. Clara's really the one who slays the king (throwing muffins at him); nutcracker's stab only fatally wounded him, so really it's like a symbolic message: Clara and the nutcracker defeated the mouse king together, which is why they end up meeting in the end.

  • Oh what a fantastic film T_T I always loved this movie when I was a kid but seeing now as an adult is even more amazing. Nice to watch this again on Christmas.
