The whole country is celebrating Ashar 15 as a National Paddy Day by planting paddy seedling in the fields and eating beaten rice and curd (Dahi-Chiura) on Tuesday. Ashar 15 is a landmark day in Hindu cultural heritage and regarded as an auspicious day for the paddy plantation. Singing folk songs while planting rice is also an important part of the festival. The government also organises programmes where ministers and high ranking government officers plant rice. The government has been
