Inner Voices made an impressionable appearance during their first concert showcase at Pentas 2, Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPac) entitled "Lets Go Mamak!" last year(2008).
Composer/music director Ken Hor & saxophonist/music director Julian Chan along with 12 other contemporary/ethnic Malaysian musicians bagged 4 BOH Cameronian Arts Awards for their performance under the Music Category : Best Group Performance, Best Music Direction, Best Composition & Kaki Seni Audience Choice Awards.
Conceptually, the concert metaphors a typical Malaysian social institution, the Mamak, to symbolise the unification of different types of people (races, culture or ethnicity) - a place where everyone meet for various social activities or just to relax, a place with diverse sights & sounds.
Through the appreciation of performing arts centered around our local culture and multi-racial musicians, Inner Voices hails the slogan "Unity Through Music".
Come experience the elements of traditional Malaysian music in the richness of our country's 3 main races; fused into frames of western and contemporary music styles such as jazz, pop, traditional and world music; in this year's Inner Voices Productions' music feature : "Let's Go Mamak...AGAIN!"
