@Stigmatainmypants Thats true however, what really made the show good was the characters mulder and skully and them together as partners. The episodes with reyes and dogget didnt have the strong charismatic and character development that mulder and skully had together. Those episodes IMO were just like any investigating show out today, very mediocre at best. I would say about 50% the reason why it failed was because of the characters and the other 50% was due to what you said.
@Vr4z1el Eh, the wheels really started falling off after the movie, to be honest. There were still some solid eps in seasons 6 and 7, but it was starting to become apparent that Carter and crew had written themselves into too many corners. It's too bad, cause the first 5 seasons were riveting tv.
