A 1999 film, "Mansfield Park" written and directed by Patricia Rozema, is inspired by Jane Austen's novel by the same name, Jane Austen herself, and her letters. This movie is perhaps the most experimental Jane Austen adaptation so far - you are in for a surprise.
Starring Frances O'Connor as Fanny Price, Jonny Lee Miller as Edmund Bertram, Embeth Davidtz as Mary Crawford, and Alessandro Nivola as Henry Crawford.

oh, come on people... fanny in the book was an utterly boring person, it´s a good thing they let her have some sparkle in the movie! she´s not a bitch, she´s just torn between her feelings and the social pressures (see what her mom told her about marriage, now that was hard to ignore) like we all would be in such an era, so let´s not judge :) she makes the right choice in the end, doesn t she?
