From a Saturday evening in 1993, we have in-vision continuity with Robin Galloway, a corporate style holding slide, the intro for Community Call, and more from Mr.Galloway. Unfortunately the recording went wobbly after this, so the end of the second part of the in-vision could not be recovered. For information, "our film for tonight" was The Great Escape II: The Untold Story. ANY AND ALL COPYRIGHTS DUTIFULLY ACKNOWLEDGED.

  • From the days when viewers in at least northern Scotland did actually get to see English matches on the third channel (Grampian always seems to have been more professional than Scottish, and seems to have been held in more affection and I think is still missed) ... that schoolboy international was fully networked but obviously the result was something for Scottish & Grampian to boast about :).

The date here, as I expected, is Saturday 13th March 1993.

  • I would imagine that Grampian is missed more than ever now. The football situation is still the same on the new STV, but this has now grown to include not showing new one-off dramas, Midsomer Murders, and, believe it or not, The Bill! For the moment anyway...

  • I'm sure I can remember Robin Galloway getting into trouble with the Grampian TV bosses for having a coughing fit while he was reading the local news bulletin one night.

  • Robin always looked a bit knackered late at night i think it was doing the breakfast show at Northsound as well as the Grampian continuity.

  • Can't doubt the year you give but watching this makes me think it could have easily come from earlier.

Either that or Grampian didn't feel much need to change things pres wise (and that's not including the generic ident!)
