bè, il più grande dopo pietrangeli forse (anche se come gioco forse è stato il numero uno) , ma non certo dopo de morpurgo, che pur essendo un ottimo giocatore non raggiunse i livelli di panatta

Panatta was like Nastase without the antics.

Adriano Panatta, like Ilie Năstase, was perfect and stylish and graceful to watch. Beautiful form and some impressive results. Like Evonne Goolagong on the womens side. It all seemed effortless. I wish he had won even more.

I'm italian too and always a great fan of Adriano. Adriano has been of last "true" tennis player. He had a great technique and could do everything at the best: serve, volley, dropshots, lob, smash. Actually, he was not a great athlet but he was very classy and stylish. For this reason people loved to watch Adriano playing. Jimmy Connors once said: "There are just two people who really know how to play tennis...me and Adriano Panatta..."
