@trumpetplayer444 While trying to prove macro-evolution to someone, I became very frustrated when I realized that there is no scientific evidence to support it. All I found were a lot of hopeful theories. I did discover--much to my displeasure--that there is an overwhelming amount of evidence of a designer/creator.
"of course you'd like to convert me. no point in suggesting otherwise." Your right, but I did say "right now I am not trying to convert you...." As in I was getting to that. Going forward, let's say you're right that there is no scientific evidence to support the existence of a god. How then did the universe come into existence? Note: this conversation ends when you want it to. I would love for you to understand what I do, but I cannot force you to believe anything. Just please hear me out.
@3434343434utubeguy of course you'd like to convert me. no point in suggesting otherwise.
i don't believe in any theistic religion because the presence of a deity in the universe is not supported by any scientific evidence. from my experience, there is not a single existing religion that provides any amount of evidence that /approaches/ that which is needed for "belief" in a god. (as a secondary note, i have read the entire bible). so to answer bluntly, it is logically, not emotionally based.
@trumpetplayer444 Well what causes your unbelief in a creator God? Is it what the Bible says, experiences, science, feelings, the desire not to believe, friends, current events, the hundreds of religions that are practiced ... What? I understand that unbelief can come from anywhere and more often than not it can be understood why that is, but belief starts with understanding where your unbelief is coming from. Right now I am not trying to convert you, but to hopefully "shed some light."
@3434343434utubeguy it would be impossible to start a conversation about it in this manner. the scope of what i have come to understand about religion is to great to begin discussing with those questions. I could try if you have a very specific question, though.
@trumpetplayer444 Although I don't remember Edwards saying that, I can't say for 100% sure that he didn't. Yet after all of the evidence in the world that points to the existence of Almighty God and the Bible proving that he does not break any of his promises, you still reject him. I don't want to start any argument, but why? What do you get from not believing?
@3434343434utubeguy i'm not sure if it was said in this section or not, but edwards mentioned in his sermon that those who assumed they would be going to heaven, who make schemes for avoiding hell, who continuously reassure themselves that they are righteous, are destined to experience the eternal hellfire.
@trumpetplayer444 Only God knows the heart. Yes we have every reason to question jeanlenor's salvation, but once we have Christ sin cannot separate us from God. Our rewards in heaven, though, are based upon what we do in this earth.
Hell is real!!!!!!! You don't have to believe it though. God has given even man (people for the pc) free will. You choose. Blessings or curses.
