In the Making - Mapping the Start

Jack shares the personal meaning behind his acrylic on board piece entitled Houses. His surrealist, dreamlike painting was created with symbolic imagery. He shares how we are all houses - different in so many ways, but the same at our core. Watch as Char carefully, and almost painstakingly, uses tiny brush strokes to create the delicate feathers on her piece called Wren. Char shares that she believes animals are unsung heroes because they have to put up with all of things humans produce and we don't really think about them as much as we should. Watch as Mark creates his submission for the Art Auction, The True Johnnie Apple Seed. Mark shares his story of how he journeyed through the Appalachian mountains to discover his Melungeon heritage. Along the way, he learned about some of the entertaining characters in his own family, which he now incorporates into his whimsical paintings.
