External Data can be brought into SharePoint using Business Connectivity Services. In this video, Doug Bassett demonstrates how to connect, use and remotely edit information, regardless of storage location.

Doug demonstrates configuring the connection services, including proper authentication and common errors that occur when setting up this complex technology. Doug also shows you how to verify operation and common pitfalls you must avoid when rolling out an enterprise installation of Microsoft SharePoint 2010.

If you want to learn more about Business Connectivity technologies and how to ensure proper configuration, optimization and security, we invite you to attend the StormWind Epic live SharePoint Configuration and SharePoint Administration courses.

If you have any course-related questions, feel free to email our Lead Microsoft instructor, Doug Bassett, at doug.bassett@stormwind.com.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
