  • @backto1960 I agree. I am a big Whishaw fan, but his role was so slight in this film. Blanchett totally stole the show. Ben was good, but he didn't do much. As much as I like him, I think the movie could probably have been done without that role and would not have lost that much.

  • Emo Whishaw fans are the worst; laughable and irritating at the same thing. Cate blanchett stole the movie and should have won the oscar. People saying that Ben was the best part of the movie are delusional.

  • @VVRamone i totally totally agree with you! For Ben's role, even when he was just interviewed and only showed up in a few parts of the movie, he was so memorable and pulled off his performance perfectly! Cate, well for 1 she talked like Dylan, looked a lot like him and even her expressions and hand gestures were like him! they are both the best actors/actresses in the movie!!

  • Easily the greatest (male) performer in the film. Whishaw and Blanchett... what extraordinary, yet harshly under appreciated performances. By all rights, she should have gotten that Oscar, and by all rights, he should have been nominated too.

  • he had the dylan voice perfect

  • Ben is so cute. I would have liked to have seen the entire interview.

  • @charleo122 either that or it's doubly impressive that the film did as well as it did.

  • It's kind of disappointing that most of the actors who played dylan didn't know anything about him prior to the film.

  • hmmm good point. i just enjoyed the fact that blanchet as a girl was able to pull of dylans mannerisms so perfectly. btw have u seen empire of the sun? directed by steven spelbergh, (sorry bout spellin) its a pretty good movie and it stars critian bale as a kid. i dunno it was just interesting.

  • that she was, but still i enjoyed bale more(I do have a bit of a bias towards bale because I enjoyed that era of dylan more)
