normally i don't spend much time learning covers, but this bon iver album is just so good, i just have to learn it! Stacks is arguably the most beautiful song on the album. Its almost totally sung in a fairly high falsetto and after learning and practicing this song for an hour or so my high notes were starting to pop or disappear... oh well, i think i'm getting there with the chords. might post a better version - maybe even a 'how to' for this song.

as far as i can tell its in open D tuning with capo on the 7th.

oh gee - thanks for your lovely comments. i don't mind being ridiculed every now and then. given that i learn and then record most of my covers in only a couple of hours i expect some negative comments. anyway, i am my own strongest critic - i know when my falsetto is crap, when the chords are wrong etc.. - but i'm comfortable with imperfection! : )

This is excellent. Absolutely the best Bon Iver cover I've seen. Do you plan on making an album or anything?

Even with it being done on a phone, it's still really good. I can just imagine what it would sound like with the proper equipment.

Thanks for posting. I've wanted to post this song too but two things keep me from doing it. I've never posted anything and don't even know how. Secondly, ir's such a daunting task to just sing it. But what a beautiful song and you do it justice.

only criticism is that your voice needs to be softer. In this song the guitar and voice and supposed to mend. otherwise it was absolutely perfect
