wow... some people are just assholes...
If you dont like the music, thats fine, go watch something else. If you have a genuinly useful comment, post it, but just disrespecting the music is out of order.
I think you should learn to open your ears and then you will realise what is behind every sound, centuries of tradition and wisdom.

There is nothing to waste, everything is used. Your perceptions of waste or not-waste are dependent upon your arbitrary perspective. Such delusions cause *you* suffering.

@XuTung I doubt that. This kind of clothing he is wearing was imported in China by Manchus.
-
@GuitarDestroyer77777 He is wearing traditional clothing in ancient China

what is the purpose of continuing to move ones fingers along the strings when the note has already faded out?? I genuinely curious if anyone could tell me. thanks :)

Well, I love it all: the man playing, the music, the tradition ... everything.

Is he wearing a manchu clothing?

lol i have an acoustic guitar that is totally fucked up.. but it kinda sounds like the slide tunes... because it's strings are tuned very very low

@gklpang @DiZhaolong The video was shot with a video phone with a build in microphone, so it was picking up the combined farts heard by the audience. Shitting also causes a lot of sound that creates the background that ruins this video.

how much time do you need..you already are out dated!!!

@aaaliii4u are you fucking kidding me? mastering a traditional instrument like this takes years and years of practice and dedication to a form of art that it is all but forgotten...
in your case, a 3 year old playing with a fucking keyboard...it disappoints me that people have the narrow-mindedness and capacity, or lack thereof, to be so ignorant and naive...
-
like a 3 year child playing with the instrument!!!
I believe the microphone is misplaced, possibly under the instrument which vibrates the shifting of the strings. Normally, as an audience you would only hear a faint left hand movement and notably each note tone would be alot more audible.

@gklpang The video was shot with a video camera with a built-in microphone, so it was picking up the sound at the same place as the audience was. Shifting the left hand along the silk strings causes much more sound than along steel ones, it is an integral part of the music.

It's not the age, it is the use of silk strings which make playing Qin more difficult. The sound when the fingers slide along the silk strings has been a part of the music, though in recent decades the introduction of steel string eliminated it. At the same time it has also changed the flavour of the music and the playing techniques. Revival of the traditional silk string Guqin has met with the problem of unavailability of high quality string.
