In this very pathetic and emotional poem, Baba Bulleh Shah sings of the profound pain and pangs of seperation from the Friend(Beloved). He knows not how to overcome the grief at the departure of a Beloved. That's why he keeps asking divine help by saying: "O" God what shall we do now? This poem has also been interpreted as portrayal of grief and sorrow of the friends and relatives at the death(or the final departure from this world to the world hereafter).

Baba Bulleh Shah has portrayed the pangs of a lover at the time of seperation from his beloved (or of people at the time of their dear one's departure from this world, on the death of a dear one.)
You are not totally correct Khalid. Baba Bhullah Shah was muslim but his message was not about just islam. His message was about love, peace and connecting the entire humanity together. BTW, he was called Kafir by his fellow muslim who rejected his message. Sufi do not preach religion they preach love and love of God.
