@nortonshit I agree with you. This works well. I think you may be over conceptualizing the marring done by the screw driver. I DO however really appreciate your attitude about doing things well. We could all use more of that attitude.

Why would someone who has the right tool for the job not use it and instead gouge up the cases with a screwdriver? Worse yet is that you made a video of your amateur methods so others might try it. Then they will have to put the new seal in with silicone if they are lucky, or they will just have a leak if they are unlucky. Anything worth doing is worth doing well.....

@avmlarry What we don't see/know is that his dad/school teacher/etc treated him poorly and taught him to be a critically destructive person, let's see if we can teach him with love. I was emotionally abused. I understand.

I usually put a small screw in the seal itself and pull it with some pliers.

@sweetlikeADAM That's the way my dad taught me to do it. On motorcycles where this technique can't be applied I do it that way.
