All of these solutions qualify as old school and elegant at the same time, i.e. they use only a single object, nothing else! Check out my full set of awesome solutions at http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=519BEE5D321DFE52
#10 - Machine (Island 2): This one is probably the most complex shape I used in the entire game. All the bends and kinks are needed to force the whole machine to behave.
#9 - Remember me? (Island 1): In contrast, this one is among the simplest in the whole game. This just shows a little thought can save a huge amount of work.
#8 - Day Cycle (Island 4): I chose this one because it represents a common challenge in many levels, that is getting the force, angle, and timing right. It looks easy in the playback but it takes quite a bit of practice to accomplish.
#7 - It's all about Timing (Island 5): Of course you can do it using the rocket, but that's just overkill. I'm showing this to make a point, that often things seem more complex than they really are. Creativity involves freeing the mind from those "implied" constraints.
#6 - It's a Car! (Island 4): It's easy to forget the features that are not often needed. Trying to solve this level without erasing would be quite a hassle.
#5 - Box 2D (Island 3): Sometimes a chance only lasts a few seconds, like the time it takes this box to tip over. Grasping it before it's too late can make a world of difference.
#4 - Emptiness (Island 7): We probably all know how to get the ball moving (first level, draw a box), and how to get the ball to go upwards (levers, seesaws, catapults, ramps). Doing the two together though, is a challenge.
#3 - Rockets, Cloud and the Moon (Island 7): You can try as hard as you might, but it never hurts to have a little good luck.
#2 - Rotating Castle (Island 1): Respawning of the ball is another very easily forgotten feature. Knowing to exploit it saves so much time and effort.
#1 - No Ropes (Island 7): This is the essence of engineering, combining tried and true techniques into a whole new concept.
number 4 is my favorite. i would have never thought of that

Why is it labeled awesome solutions when you say their old school and elegant?
