You Tube can provide a fascinating education for anything you're interested in. I've got to learn about and hear so many of the old blues singers and players that perhaps the name has passed by me, but I've never actually heard their stuff. I've really turned onto Barbecue Bob and Reverend Gary Davis.

I think its a mistake to get into a conversatiopn about who wrote what first and when, it's applying todays standards of song writing to a time period and style that didnt necessarily follow that format. Many of these songs by early acoustic recording artists were floating around for decades. I've heard many blues artists perform what was in theory the same song arranged so differently the only similarity was some of the lyrics.

this isn't blake's best. Itching Heel, Rope Strecthin' Blues, Diddie Wah Diddie, Walkin' Across The Country, Righteous Blues, And Police Dog Blues. That's where you start with the king of rag guitar.

One of Blake's best!

I agree, but I think that there are a few lines that the record companies would not feel are "politically correct".

THAT WAS COOL!!

I'm pretty sure this was recorded for Paramount in November 1927.
