  • Playing a wide vibrato takes skill, seriously! This guy is doing his own interpretation of the piece

  • Maybe not necessarily too MUCH vibrato, but the vibrato was too wide about 75% of the time.

    I would want some close to straight tones when playing this, personally. Of course, there might be a little bit of vibrato, but nothing too mega wide.

  • Do I hear an unusual silver-y tone in this find playing. I mean not the usual cello I am used to.

  • in this case vibrato covers a multitude of sins.

  • i actually love the vibrato most of the time but occasionally his intonation is covered due to its width. but id rather see people err on the side of more than less in this piece...

  • When I saw him perform live, his avoidance of any "showiness" impressed me; he is a sincere and honest musician, I think.
