Great basic instructions. Everyone should read this or something like this before they buy a gerbil. Also, introduce an older gerbil to a younger one (preferably the same sex unless you want them to have more gerbils) using the split cage method (google "gerbil split tank" or "gerbil split cage"). I just wanted to mention that you spelled bedding wrong... it's BEDDING, NOT BETTING. Otherwise, great instructional video! All very true stuff. :)

When I made this video I had two. Twinkle and Chippy
Twinkle got pregnant and had 3 babies.
Then about a month later had ANOTHER litter of about 6, unfortunately all 6 died though..she ate them:(
Now I have Twinkle and 2 of the babies, a friend of mine has Chippy and one baby

i have just been given 2 gerbils that have been together for 1 year they seem very happy but we dont know what too feed them. we already have rabbits is rabbit food okay to feed them? and when we have them out they like chewing on our clothes so i gave them a holey sock to chew on it this safe? thanks x

I really wouldn't recommend the sock, the fabric could wrap itself around organs inside your gerbils body. I give my gerbils empty toilet paper rolls and they love it. It is also very healthy for their teeth and keeps them occupied for a LONG time.
As for the food, I wouldn't recommend the rabbit food either. Gerbils and rabbits have different dietary requirements and rabbit food contains levels of vitamins and minerals that could kill your gerbil.
