His songs that aren't good enough to make it on to whatever album he was working on, The River (1980), in this case, are better than 99% of the songs on almost everyone else's best albums.
Tracks (1998) has 66 of these songs. Check out, Back in Your Arms, which he has played live half-a-dozen times, but especially, Happy, which, to my knowledge, he has never played anywhere, except the studio version on Tracks.
