One of my favourite films. Truly beautiful, heartbreaking and exciting. If all blockbusters were cut from a similiar cloth modern mainstream cinema would not be the proverbial laughing stock it has become. It also has one of the most soulful and frankly brilliant soundtracks I have experienced in a long time. A strong comment I know but this film is second only to Blade Runner in my estimation. And it is a very, very close second.

@RockStarforeal Requiem for a tower. It's an orchestrated cover of a Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell. Lux Aeterna was the main theme for Requiem For A Dream. Requiem for a tower was made specifically made for the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers trailer.

This was one badass fucking movie.

Everybody calling this movie stupid because some stars go supernova while other stars like our own while just expand over millions of years into a red giant before becoming a white dwarf star, this is a movie and it's sci-fi so it doesn't have to make sense just enjoy it. Hell the chipmunks aren't real but my daughter and I enjoyed the movie very much.

@msmazor he is a survivor of the first attempt o restart the sun in the previews it doesn't show that this is the second attempt and everyone is thought to be dead from the first voyage but he somehow survived and obviously changed presumably by the sun.

This was just a Cliff Note. Ever see the "preview" for Cast Away with Tom Hanks? That is just like this - A Cliff Note.
Great movie though with one of the best soundtracks EVER!!!

How is it my favorite piece of music was written for my favorite movie of time. Sunshine. You know, I must have listened to Adagio in D-minor hundreds of times and I have never made it through the recording without weeping. never, not once. It touches every chord I have ever been and lands upon notes I could only imagine in a dream beyond infinity. I believe this to be the closest thing I will ever find here on Earth when envisioning God's image. John Williams and Danny Boyle sure saw something.
