filmed by Janne Forssell (2010)
A visual action/ actuation by Joakim Stampe, which wants to raise questions about the privatization of the citystreets that goes through Europe.
The artist has chosen to actually work with color that is not resistant to time, this action choosing to be very human as an artistic project, it would not compete with eternity, it would not take buildings or sidewalks hostage for ages .. No, - this project would just have a conversation with the common space over a relatively short time, and talk about the fact that our faces, and life, brief as photos.
With COMMON meant Earth, mostly forest or pasture, and water-owned (or may be used) of a community. Such land has been found in all Germanic countries. It is called in England Common, in Germany Allmende, in Denmark Almining / Allminding, in Sweden Allmänning and Norway Allmenning.
I like how the original shapes in the rocks are used as a part of the artwork. Maybe even inspired the whole approach? Cool!
