I can understand that dark feeling. But it could be a more subtle way for you to prepare yourself. Although you/re never prepared for these things, it may make his passing on a little more bearable. Remember the things he taught you and keep old photos and in a way he'll never die...what he gave to the world will live on forever.
We still need an openly gay president and women president before I will be so easily swayed by emotion. Obama is part white so I think that is why it hasn't meant to much to me.
I know what you mean when you say you don't want to talk about it. My Grandmother just passed in December, and I really haven't said anything to anyone about it, and it does feel strange. I feel like I don't care because I'm not expressing how I feel, but I know I care, and it just goes in circles. I hope you feel better, and find a way that your comfertable, dealing with the hard times, im sure you will =0)
Just wanted to echo Melissa in saying if you have the chance to see your Grandfather now and say goodbye I would grab it with both hands, you can always light a candle and say a prayer at home for the day of the funeral, whatever you decide my prayers and good wishes are with you Nick and your family.
I'm not going to waste words saying your grandfather going to a better place. You know all that. Knowing that someone you care about is about to pass over doesn't prepare you for when it does.
My concern is for you. Emotional stress lowers you immune system. With you already ill, please take extra good care of yourself.
Most airlines have cheaper "Bereavement Fares." Please take someone with you to the funeral to support you.
Chris, Get well soon. I know that it's hard to accept the ending of a life, but you can rest in knowing that your Grandfather loves you and his memory will carry on... through you. Best wishes to you, Nickas, and your families.
