In part 4 of 4 of Rush Limbaugh's speech at CPAC 2009, Rush once again addresses the "controversy" over his remarks on whether he wants President Obama to succeed or fail.

  • Seems as if you guys have less faith in America's ability to survive even Rush and Bush than you have in Obama's demonstrated ability to bring about change.

You should be rooting for Obama to succeed, so as not to simply make the intellectual point of your choice of weapons as being effective, given the demonstrated ineffectiveness of your weaponry.

  • I have complete confidence in the American people to weather this crisis. I have very little confidence in our government, regardless of who is running it.

I don't want to see any of Barack Obama's policies enacted that will hurt the country.

  • I just wonder what Rush and the rest of the Republican party, including present company can possibly say when Obama and AMERICA succeeds??

  • Which of Obama's policies do you believe is going to lead America to success: doubling the national debt in five years, no plan to deal with the banking crisis, raising taxes, reducing charitable donations?

  • Given the fact that none of the "facts" you cite about Obama's policies are actually TRUE FACTS, I would have to consider your view of Obama as illusory, if not entirely delusional.

And I don't order from just ANY menu.....as a matter of prudence.

Since you made your reply, on the 10th, the Stock Market disagrees with your purview.

It took you guys 8 years to get us into this mess, so why won't you allow us 8 Months to get you out of it?

Our choice of weapons, of course.......

  • Facts are facts. Obama will double the national debt in 5 years based on his own budget numbers. Geithner has no plan for dealing with the banking crisis (and the 11 top positions in Treasury remain unfilled). Obama has proposed raising income taxes, capital gains taxes and dividend taxes while reducing the charitable deduction and mortgage deduction.

The stock market has lost 25% of its value since election day, so I agree it's an accurate indicator of Obama's performance.

  • Rush Limbaugh is the greatest...

  • You think socialism works? So then according to you, the Nazis (which stands for National Socialist Party) were fixing their economy. The Nazis came to power in circumstances that are very similar to the current ones in the USA. Another great socialist country would be the USSR, which also failed miserably. The European countries with socialist economies are also failing. Socialism doesn't work, its that simple.

  • Reposted this whole speech upon the news Sarah will be giving this years keynote speech.

  • @fahsue Have YOU looked at the crop of Tea Party Activists, who took Rush seriously, and whose obstinence almost caused a DEFAULT, and whose IGNORANCE LOWERED OUR CREDIT RATING FOR BONDS, and won't even pass a JOBS BILL?

Have YOU looked at the CROP of REPLACEMENT PLAYERS on the Republican side, whose weird ideas are so off center that "UNBALANCED" does not quite define their pathology?

Did Rush cause any or ALL of this?

Only time will tell, but let's talk again on November 7, 2012, OK?

  • @MARKETEX

It's been two years since your comments, what do think about Obama's policies now?

  • @LandofDaFree First, you cannot just give two separate words the same prefix and automatically equate them with one another... That would be like me saying: "Master Chief, Master Race," and then asking why you don't understand the correlation between Halo and Nazi Germany.

Second, in response to the actual content of your statement: the free flow of money (i.e. markets) has nothing to do with freedom for individual human beings, what about those without money, how "free" are they?

  • @LandofDaFree "Free markets" are not the same thing as "free people," that's a false equivalency.

@MARKETEX is the country succeeding? you fucking moron

    I Say:

Even with you and Rush, the United States of America IS succeeding!

  • @MARKETEX is the country succeeding? you fucking moron
