Phillip is a huge talent.
I'm very sad that for some reason he has not been signed by some classical agency,
-
I haven't heard from him as of yet,but I realize he's
having a tough time here in the Bay Area.I really hope to get some extra spending money so we
can do another guitar lesson.I never get bored of
him teaching!

After too much talking,I forgot to comment on the
sound of this performance....BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I agree! As James Kline said,"Philip is a national
treasure".

I passed on to Phil that you had left remarks last night in a converstion from his automobile. Since Spain everyone wants Philip to make a soft landing yet many of us feel helpless too. I sense Bob Freimark has been Ms. C.'s preoccupation and Philip was feeling a bit stuck in the midst of that. Bob is a big fan of his but sadly has been feeling his age. So Phil may be a loose wheel and will try to do the tough routine he has done for those appreciative few or many, perhaps depending on the day.

I saw him briefly at the Christmas Party at GSP.He
arrived late in the evening around 11pm along w/
Christine.I wanted to hang out with him,but he was talking with two of his former students,Paul
Binkley and Larry Ferrara. That's ok.I'll see him
again soon and do another 4 hour lesson!
Yes Phil is a national treasure. Apparently he is on the loose lately. We met in Fairfax the other night at The Sleeping Lady where they have a lottery and as it worked out Phil's student Dalton played and Phil sat it out. We had a bit of an after party until it got late enough that the potent sound of the Ramirez unamplified had to be suspended. The owner lives next door and is in a dispute with me or I'd have had the maestro play into the wee hours and sleep here. Phil said he should call you.

Michael Lorimer is in possession of much of Phil's recorded work. Phil indicated to me last year that he intended to distribute work through Michael. More recently (Phil and friend Dalton stopped in two nights ago) Phil has indicated to me that he wants to create his own workstation - get his own "MySpace" post on CD Baby and to do it like everyone else does. Of course it is an uphill struggle for Phil and it would be lovely if he could find someone to write him a grant. Tough time for that.

He's too good to be playing the N. Berkeley Bart Station. He's Joshua Bell doing a longer experiment.
