1 - The source LP for the audio performance has been commercially unavailable for nearly 40 years. Its presence here is not depriving you of any compensation until and unless WEA re-issues the album or licenses it to a re-issue company like Razor & Tie. • Well SP, a year ago you had about 800 hits on this song.

I must have a lot of fans, because wherever I go, they are sure to follow!!! LOL

    RIP SP

  • @happening70 To misunderstand my comments is to lack an appreicaition for what you are hearing, despite the fact that there are quite a few places in which the strings are out of tune. THAT was not intentional. I am not talking about sliding or bending. I am talking about strings being out of tune.

Interpretation of strings being out of tune is not a matter of misunderstanding a composition. It is a matter a of musician being sloppy. I call it the way it REALLY is, and am not tone deaf. as U R

  • lovely rendition incorporating two nicely thought out parts. the composer is respected without being aped, as mr kleinow demonstrates the lighter side of the instrument. to criticize is to misunderstand what you're hearing..

  • thanks for posting... I still have this LP, bought it when I was in high school.

  • Perhaps could have been the most beautiful rendition of Blackbird. Unfortunately, being a musician myself, with a trained ear for very slight variations in pitch/key, there is a string that was not properly tuned. Additionally, there were a few points at which the slide was not held perfectly over the fret, leading to several occasions in which notes were very slightly, not in key. Perhaps, not noticed by an untrained ear, but for me, it would otherwise have been perfect. Still, I do love it.
