Bush & Mueller's Lumotec IQ Cyno N Plus LED generator-powered bicycle headlight throws out a tremendous amount of light aimed precisely where you need it without blinding oncoming traffic. Here's how to install the light on a Surly Long Haul Trucker equipped with a SON generator hub. For details, see http://www.palmbeachbiketours.com/iq-cyo-n-plus/

  • There's a link to Amazon in the story. Radio Shack carries it, too. It's not expensive and it's easy to use.

  • I see the light you choose is the model with the near field reflector, 40 lumens. Have you tried the stronger model with 60 lumens?

  • @Rinty145 I chose the near field reflector because I'm a fairly slow rider and don't need to shoot the beam any farther than this one. I also like having the reflector built in and I don't think the other light has that.

  • where did you get the wrap for the wires? or what is it

  • These lamps are very, very small. I was shocked when I first saw the light. I thought it would be bigger, but the super bright lights. 40 lux is enough for me. I bought version 2011 with daylight 4 LEDs for close range and standlight. High quality lamp.

  • @Rinty145 I am riding with two of the 60lx versions at the same time. It is not really stronger, it has a different distribution. The 40lx version was made because of the complaints about the IQ Fly not having light in the nearfield. This is not true, it is just darker there. I did not dare to try out the 40lx version as I am afraid of having too much light near, which might "blind" me for the distance.

  • @pbbtken At the moment I have the round light with the halogen bulb, but I'm going to purchase an IQ Cyo for next winter, Thanks.
