Santa Maria de la Vid Priory is a religious community of Norbertine
priests and brothers living a common life in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Our community is rooted in the Word of God. It is centered on Jesus
Christ and His Church. The community is committed to the rule of St.
Augustine. Our vocation is focused on the goal of becoming one heart
and mind on our journey toward God.

As a community we are given to holding all things in common. Our
source of life is animated by the teaching of the Apostles. Our prayer
life together focuses on Mary the Mother of Jesus and the community.
We break bread together with joy so that the Eucharist is the center of
our entire life. We commit ourselves to giving witness to the
resurrection of Jesus Christ by preaching, good example, our religious
vows and every form of apostolic work. The contemporary challenge in
living the apostolic way of life consists in finding ways that will
allow us to live our vocation to its fullest expression.

This video was created to provide a brief overview of the Norbertine way of life and our central charism of "comunio" or community. We hope that this short film will act as a catalyst for conversation between our community and those individuals who have an interest in vowed religious life, who are beginning to discern the call of God in their lives or who are well into their adventure of discernment. We look forward to the possibility of becoming part of your own journey of faith and discernment. We hope to encounter you in our ministries and apostolates, on retreat or as a future
priest, brother, lay oblate or associate living out the rich 900 year old spiritual tradition of the Order or Premontre.

  • It's great that you've put this on YouTube. I must try and do something similar for the Norbertine Community in Storrington in the UK.

  • Thanks and God Bless. It takes a bit of work and a good videographer to get a quality product. It's worth the effort.

  • Great idea--hope it works well for you!

  • Thank you so much we hope it will produce some responses from people interested in our way of life.

  • What a generous thing for you to do. There is such a need to have people validate the work of the Church. Thank You.

  • We love our Nobertines at St. Michael's Abbey! I thank God on my knees for the gift that I live near them.

  • There's a wonderful Norbertine Abbey by me: St. Michael's Abbey in Trabuco Canyon. Norbertines, keep the faith.

  • Yea!! I saw my pastor, Fr. Tourangeau, in this video! Since he came to St. Anne's I have joined the choir and have become a Eucharistic Minister. He has had a tremendous influence on me and the community of St. Anne's. We are so happy to have him!!
