This turbine was originally assigned as a temporary class project. I felt that I had spent too much effort building it for it to only be used for less than a day.

So I took it home, strengthened it, and mounted it on a metal pole.

Max power output: ~5v DC (manually spinning the blades with my hand)
Power storage: 4x 1.2v NiCD AA cells, 1000mAh each

Blade Features:
- Feathering
- Variable pitch
- Variable length (added after video was taken)
- Easily repaired if damaged
- Easily removed if required for transportation, etc

General Features
- High-ratio gears
- Blades can be easily repaired if damaged
- Turbine head can be removed from mounting pole

  • I liked this, i mean, it can't sing and walk and talk and feel.

But seing as the LED comes lighting in the night, i would love to see that working.

  • @Wonejox3 It fell apart about a month or two later. The hot summer weather melted the hotmelt glue and it like, died, lol

I might build a new one this summer if I have time.

  • Please never become an Aeronautical Engineer..... that motor was probably a DJ turntable motor... You used a hot glue gun and popsickle sticks... seriously... (face palm) that's not true variable pitch in the blades... burn this one and start over...

  • @CodeWarriorx0539 As I stated in the description, this was built as an assignment for my high school technology class. Obviously it would not be built using high quality materials. We used things that we found around the classroom.

  • you mustve gotten your engineering skill to 450 to build this beast

  • @pikaneji

    You create: [Nesil's Wind Turbine].

Your skill in Engineering has increased to 451.
