The law has come in handy for domestic workers... Well, just how much do you pay your domestic worker currently -- be it the house help, the watchman, gardener or even messenger? The question of how much would be considered fair compensation for their efforts has been a subject of debate from household to household, but the ministry of labour has now closed that debate. In Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu, domestic workers will now earn nothing short of 7, 586 Kenya shillings and flouting this requirement, could well land you in jail for 6 months or see you pay a fine of upto 50,000 shillings. Sally Mbilu also reports that according to the newly gazetted regulations, domestic workers are now entitled to two off days a week, as well as leave.
It is kind of ridiculous....so if a person is payed 20,000?
