Ron Paul can never be elected president of the U.S., if for only one reason: he is too honest. American voters will put only an exorbitantly lying politician into that office, so that they can then claim to be his or her "victims" when that president can't or won't make good on the ridiculous lies needed to get elected. I'm Canadian, and I disagree with you, not just because I dislike armed robbery even for a charitable cause, but because it has failed me personally.

The Ontario system, despite me paying into it, refused to provide me with a needed surgery - instead putting me on drugs with horrible side effects to "treat" the issue. I had to go to the US and pay to get fixed.

The US system sucks too, as government has driven the costs sky-high, but at least you can choose not to pay them if they won't help.
