This Joe Bennett led, Rockabilly band, was from South Carolina and found fame with their original tune, BLACK SLACKS ! The album released on the Collectible Records label a number of years ago, is chuck full of great , up-beat numbers like this one.
The Sparkletones performed BLACK SLACKS on Dick Clark's AMERICAN BANDSTAND on Tuesday - November 5, 1957. The song first hit the charts on August 26, 1957, stayed there for 19 weeks & peaked at #17 .
