his parents brought him to this world. Without the care and education he received from the government, he wouldn't have laid a solid foundations for future development and he wouldn't be able to become today's Jet Li. So he is grateful to the officials of the government, people he may not know the names but helped him. But to be grateful doesn't mean to return some gifts back. Instead, he will devote his life, his love, his care to this society effortlessly.

He experienced different cultures, met people from different societies, in different living status. Those experience made him to think and disagree. When he was young, he didn't know that he should be grateful. Instead, he only saw the unfair things happened to himself. He wrote letters to the leaders and officials to express his complaints.

By being a athlete, he also earned salary from very young to support his family.

From 8 to 16 years old, even longer than that, he received salary, compensation from the government. At least 10 years, he received education, support and care from the government. He still remembered what was his state of mind through these periods. During this period, the society of China is not as open as today. But he gained the opportunity to travel around the world in a very young age.

his mother only got 40Y/Month salary, it would be impossible to raise up 5 children and 2 adults without government's support. He (Jet Li) started to study martial arts to earn some money. Jet Li's martial art teacher told him that besides aviators, athlete is the 2nd class of people that the government spend most of the money. Only the money for food for an athlete is about 50-80Y/month, which is an equivalent salary of a person who owns a bachelor's degree, or even a professor.
