I might be getting a sheltie from a friend of mine. What do you recommend starting training with?

@sheltiechase Mine have never liked kids. My parents' shelties didn't like us kids much either...until we started feeding them under the table.

Your dog is gorgeous! I am getting a Sheltie puppy soon (hopefully in less than 5 months)! I know all about barking! I have a Pomeranian. lol. How long did it take you to potty train your dog/puppy?

Hey thanks so much!!! You will love your sheltie. They are the best dogs. To potty train it took about a month. We did not crate train. Just let him out all day long so he knew to go outside. We just got a sheltipoo and she learned in a few weeks. Best of luck with you new puppy!!

Mish~ shelties are awesome. we have two. yes they are good with other dogs least mine are. both mine don't like kids. no clue why. they do bark. they are known as the number one barking dog in the world. we got used to it. they are extremely loyal so that makes them hesitant with other people.they see it as disloyal to their master. training is a piece of cake. they learn in less than five reps.. im a sheltie lifer. best of luck with yours. feel free to ask me any questions. :)
