why would it be called marvel vs capcom 3 when there isn't any marvel characters in the game...

They'll simply replace the Tatsunoko characters with Marvel characters. This will happen if Capcom USA does not get the rights for the Tatsunoko characters (which is likely they'll fail)

Dec. 11th, 2008 on the Wii. I forgot to specify that the date is for the Japanese release. There is no known U.S. release date.
