Why doesn't this priest say anything about Christianity??
You know what screams "I'm a huge, money hungry capitalist?" Providing free health care and food to poor people, saying that it would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than to let someone rich into his house, and getting so fucking pissed and people lending money and selling merchandise, the absolute tenants of capitalism, that he chases them out of town.

CHRISTIANS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE WEALTHY- THIS IS THE TEACHING OF JESUS CHRIST.

I HATE FOXNEWS. AMERICA=CAPITALISM CAUSES ALL WARS. WARS =BUISNESS=CAPITALISM. CHRISTIANS R HYPOCRITES ANYWAYS.

@worldofdraculas Your death cult superstitions aside, I thought Christians were supposed to aspire to Christ-like lives? Don't get me wrong, I think your hypocrisy is the trait I am most thankful for. Most Christians, unlike Muslims who seem to adhere to their beliefs far too much, seem to be able to explain away anything. As for the 'system' as you call it, Jesus seemed to be all about individual life choices and not political ideology. Besides, there are plenty of Xian socialists out there.

@MrMonkeyInk God became human to suffer and die for our sins. Why exactly would he need personal property to accomplish that? Besides, it really don't talk about that, because he did not come to Earth to teach us economics.
What matters here is which "system" involves less tyranny, makes life better for more people, and gives people the means to help others more effectively. I say that free markets are a better match. Also, it doesn't help that Socialism was conceived by militant Atheists.

@JonasPlanck Incorrect. Our rights not endowed by the Constitution, only protected by it.

@shmoriy Jesus never talked about monetary policy. Half of the Ten Commandments are about property rights. Socialism defies property rights by definition. How the hell does that add up?
I'm sure people have quoted the impossibility of rich men entering Heaven, but you might want to keep reading to the part where he also says that, with God, the impossible is possible. The point is that you can't buy your way into Heaven. You also can't Socialize this world into an egalitarian Heaven on Earth.

Jesus was a socialist, you would think a priest would know that.
@MrMonkeyInk @worldofdraculas Jesus said it would be easier for a camel to fit through the head of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven. I would say aspiring to wealth is probably very un-Christian

Only on Fox could they make out that Christianity is a religion that promotes greed and material possessions as being good things. What about "It's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven"? I recall Jesus ministered to the poor as a priority (he came from humble beginnings himself) and kicked the money changers out of the temple. Since capitalism only helps those who already have the means to help themselves it isn't christian.
