  • Korean Gumdo is very dangerous art, since they let children hold wooden swords or imitation Katana easily. In Japan we can't use its easily till master give the pardon.why Kendo use bamboo sword?since even just wooden or imitation sword can kill.if the children kill other people slily, could you accept the blame? Korean Gumdo show the brassy performances and get many student and money teaching in hazard without any definite knowledge.this is serious problem for society.

  • The ancient Korean surely taught a Japanese how to make swords.

However, it was casting that they taught.

The sword made by casting is suitable to stick it.

japan succeeded ingenious innovation, and making a sword by forging.

The forged sword is suitable to cut a thing.

Korea did not have forging technology until the 20th century.

so,haidong gumdo can not be traditional martial arts.

  • Why doesn't HDGD use the Korean sword? KURIGATA and SAGEO for thrusting into a belt are the features of Japanese sword. It is the similar Japanese sword. I never find such the Korean old sword or Korean soldier's photograph.

  • Why do they wear Japanese costume? Korean must wear chinese-Korean costume.

  • Please watch this video.

    It is very interesting.

  • 武藝圖譜通志Muye Dobo Tongji (1790) : Comprehensive Illustrated Manual of Martial Arts in Korea .

[It is an official document at a Korean Dynasty, written by The Korean King order in the 18th century]

    國練兵之制三軍練于郊,衛士練于禁苑,其禁苑練兵盛自 光廟朝,然止弓矢一技而已如槍劍法技,既未之聞焉,

Archery was the only martial art that had been practiced by Korean soldiers. They have no skills of sword or spear fighting.

  • Haha, so funny.

    This looks like Japanese "kendo"

    opps, JUST "kendo".
