Something I did a few weeks back but didn't upload to YouTube yet. I did this run to beat a run by niebezimienny because when verifying that run for SDA I found a shitload of tricks and glitches that could be used to save time. I whipped this run out in a couple of weeks and there are some embarassing planning errors, some possible timesaving tricks I didn't use because I discovered them after I finished this run, and many points where execution could be improved to lower the time without much effort. Nonetheless, perhaps it will interest some people.
When the run goes up on SDA people who are interested will be able to go and see my full 20000 word comments, which include all the dialogue since even with a media player with frame advance you can't read it in the video (many lines don't show up even for a frame because I go through the dialogue so fast).
For YouTube, I'll just give a quick summary of the main glitches and leave it at that.
Transition Warping: Certain methods of forcing a party member to stop (like talking to them or having them Hide) whilst they are en-route to an area transition cause the game to think they have reached the transition and stopped at it, instantly teleporting the party to the next area.
Cutscene Breaking: Cutscenes that play immediately after dialogue or loading screens can usually be broken by entering dialogue or the Formations or Remove Party screens the instant you arrive, then finishing the dialogue or clicking 'done' to restore the interface. Other cutscenes can be broken by dying during them, or having them trigger while you are dead; the interface being restored when you respawn breaks you out of cutscene mode.
Save abuse: Certain scripted actions on delays don't get saved when you save the game, so saving and loading effectively cancels them. In particular, you can attack an enemy, then save before they turn hostile, and when you reload they will have 'forgotten' you attacked them, and will remain peaceful.
Thanks niebezimienny, shoop and leftside for their contributions to this run.
Note that the 20:15 time includes a 0.5s penalty for each manual save, as per SDA rules. The time pre-penalty is 19:55.
I remember talking to shoop about his proposed run years ago.
This just makes our version look so... primitive.

@SMRleftside leftside! There's a name I remember. Your dialogue path to skip the shadows cutscene at Ravel nearly made it into this run but I needed to trigger and break the cutscene to be able to save before the fight. You guys did a good job with your old plan; most of the improvements here come from new glitches, of which the cutscene breaking and the script breaking via saves are inspired by stuff in BG2, and the transition warping was found by luck. How'd you find this, by the way?
