This is an amazing multiband receiver. Not sure how it compares to the Grundig G3 but it is basically on par with the G5/E5 minus sync detection.

  • I just got one from Amazon and real disapointed in it

first it did not display LW or MW or SW on the screen and it would not save the presets

if it was not for the manual the average numpty would not have a clue on how to use it

    My National scans SW better

  • @treaxsolar Glad to hear you like the video but sorry that the 7600GR was a disappointment.

  • Great review of this receiver Chris. I plan to get one of these soon. Thanks, Bob,VE9EE

  • @ve9eearo Sony has always made great products and this was no exception. This served my needs until I got the Tecsun PL-660.

  • I don't like the small display on this Sony, and I don't like the fact that there is no tuning knob! So I went with the G3. So far, I like it a lot. The latest units have the early sync problem ironed out, from what I can tell.

  • @AudiophileTubes I do hope you are enjoying the Grundig G3. I hear that it is an awesome radio. I would like to have one, but seeing that it's $150 still and I already own an expensive radio already...I don't plan on buying another. Plus with the current trends to shortwave, there may not be enough reason to get another since some broadcasters are leaving shortwave. I have two methods of getting international radio: shortwave and WunderRadio and ooTunes radio apps on my iPod Touch.

  • you made a great video I like it

  • @AudiophileTubes I thought about getting a G3, but it may be a bit of overkill since both are excellent receivers. Personally, I don't mind the smaller screen and lack of tuning knob on the 7600GR. Even it it had one, I probably wouldn't use it, but would prefer using the keypad. Tuning a knob to a desired frequency seems a bit tedious to me. I know some folks enjoy tuning into stations "the old-fashioned way." It doesn't matter how you tune as long as we are all enjoying great quality radio.

  • @kelscav22 I just ordered me an adapter my 7600GR tonight. I have used generic adapters that you can find for about $8, but it produced a lot of noise so I stopped using it. Hopefully this one (when it comes in) doesn't have the same effect.

  • @chrisfreitas Thank you so much man, great review!
