"Round 1" takes you deep into the life of boxing prodigy and future star, Jose Benavidez.
From the age of 6, he has trained and competed in the ring.
With the coaching and guidance from his father, Jose Benavidez Sr.,
he became the youngest Golden Gloves Champion in history, at 16,
and was assigned a special license by the Nevada Athletic Commission,
allowing him to go pro at only 17 years old.
Boxing's elite has labeled Jose one of the biggest prospects in the sport,

Not bad not bad still would like to see him against actual competition. Young but not a big deal just take a look at wilfred benitez, a legend who defeated a legend antonio cervantes who wasnt at a decline or anything at only 17. Now that's something!

i like this kid....and Frankie Gomez....but I question the level of opposition Jose is fighting...some of the guys hes knocked out simply just quit after getting hit....i respect the fact that thos "opponents" got in the ring, but truth be told, they're NOT fighters and dont behave like fighters. The kid has GREAT potential, i just hope his promoter (Bob Arum) doesnt feed him tomato cans on the way to blowing up his record....if brought along at a proper pace this kid could be SPECIAL

Benavidez = boxer puncher
Gomez = brawler
Benavidez = technical
Gomez = headhunter
Benavidez = reach + combo of speed & power
Gomez = power with some speed
Benavidez = more well-rounded which means better potential
But I honestly like both these kids....
