The Continental Martini Bar

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The ever-popular Continental Restaurant and Martini Bar, 138 Market Street, features an imaginative interior, extensive list of signature cocktails and a sizzling menu of global tapas. The cutting-edge nightspot, created by Philadelphia's leading restaurateur Stephen Starr, was the first to set the pace in Old City, making it one of the hottest areas for a night out.

Known for its sensational cocktails, Continental's bar offers a variety of libations including cosmopolitans, margaritas and 15 varieties of martinis served in a personal shaker. Continental's menu of global tapas includes such popular items as Lobster Mashed Potatoes, Seared Tuna with Mushroom Risotto and Szechuan Fried Potatoes with Chinese Mustard.

A restored stainless-steel 60's diner, Continental's trend-setting decor features oversized olive-shaped halogen lamps pierced with huge toothpicks and olive-green banquettes with pimiento-red accents. The chic interior has been featured in such publications as Harper's Bazaar and Interior Design.

Starr opened Continental in 1995 and introduced Philadelphians to their first martini bar. Since then, Continental has taken the city's dining scene to exciting new heights. Playboy magazine selected Continental as one of the Best Bars in America; Food and Wine named it Best Chef's Hangout and Travel and Leisure picked it as one of the Best Places to Go. Continental is located in the heart of Old City at 138 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA. Dinner is served Sunday through Wednesday, 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm and Thursday through Saturday, 5:00 pm to 12:00 midnight. Lunch is served Monday through Friday, 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday, 10:30 am to 3:00 pm. An afternoon menu is served Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. The bar is open until 2:00 am.
