Yes, women’s rights have come a long way, but still have much further to go. The mental manipulation and suppression of women, termed Gaslight is still going on quietly within societal expectations portrayed in; magazines, TV and net advertisements. The unattainable view of body image portrayed within these media is another aspect of the Gaslight phenomena. Please be aware of man’s slight-of-hand when manipulating a woman’s persona. It is unacceptable and should not be allowed to continue.

Hello! People! Are you all blind to the fact that at this time women's rights were still coming out from under a rock? Charles Boyer's treatment of Ingrid Bergman stifled her individual thought, independent self expression and held her from having individual free will. The actual term for this is, interestingly, Gas-lighting! Yes, this is a benchmark film. But it speaks volumes of man's suppression of women in the early to mid 19th century. I'm surprised none of you noticed this.

Starting from 0:42 I just noticed Ingrid looks like Nicole Kidman...
btw, I really want to watch this movie, it seems epic..^^
A brilliant masterpiece. One of my favorite movies. The plot is so incredibly deep and has a very significant allegorical meaning. Everyone should see it.
