The Turgo turbine is an impulse type turbine; water does not change pressure as it moves through the turbine blades. The water's potential energy is converted to kinetic energy with a nozzle. The high speed water jet is then directed on the turbine blades which deflect and reverse the flow. The resulting impulse spins the turbine runner, imparting energy to the turbine shaft. Water exits with very little energy. Turgo runners may have an efficiency of over 90%.

A Turgo runner looks like a Pelton runner split in half. For the same power, the Turgo runner is one half the diameter of the Pelton runner, and so twice the specific speed. The Turgo can handle a greater water flow than the Pelton because exiting water doesn't interfere with adjacent buckets.

ho un sistema elettronico di zavorre

  • Question...

    Does it reuse the water?

    If so

    How does the water recycle?

Please reply i'm working on something like this and that's my flaw..

  • @stephenodea619

no, water is supplied by a stream

  • hi,

how much the cost for the package of turbine generator if I had 5 MW capacity?

  • @nkr28

    5000000 euro

  • @freelance52 alla casa del signore sputu fugu

  • i would love some info on this.

    How?

Who? Were? When? and how much?

  • perhaps with a bit of da vinci ingenuity you can create a more efficient gear mechanism to harness the stream of water. maybe multiple crank shafts synchronized with another unique type of mechanism. of course it would be very difficult to build and manufacture, but i can't help but feel this isn't the most efficient translation of movements. especially when u see how rolex watches work you start to dream of strange things like this becoming practical.

  • @AlecTBM ...though I was surprised by a question on the tax return form.. "Did you own a power station in 2010?" ..perhaps that only applies to larger ones? I wouldn't be surprised if they find some way to make you pay anyway. Over in England you have to pay a fuel tax on anything you use as fuel in your car, such as recycled cooking oil, used motor oil(can be used as fuel), even if you could run it on water.. I think I need to read further into this to be sure.

  • @ReisendeEuropa The is possible that is the case :)

  • @AlecTBM After reading a bit on the regulations, it seems that you only have to pay if your generator is connected to the national grid, or produces over 1000 volts.

  • @ReisendeEuropa One problem, it is not free in Norway, you have to pay StatKraft for the energy you take from the water. Even if you own the water, you don't own the energy in it. Also norwegian ;)

  • keep up the efforts!
