Francisco Mignone - Pequena Valsa de Esquina V

To celebrate the 4th month anniversary of my piano playing (06/Sep/2008), I recorded another Francisco Mignone waltz. That´s the last Mignone piece I´ll record for some time, now I´m studying some Mozart and Chopin.

"On March 9th, 1964 I had the good fortune to meet Francisco Mignone when he gave the inaugural class at the Lorenzo Fernandez Academy, where I taught Musical Initiation and Piano. When I arrived at the auditorium, there was Mignone playing his Valsas de Esquina (Street Corner Waltzes), I recall well: numbers 5 and 8. On leaving, we met again in the elevator and thus a beautiful "love story" began. The following day he gave me as a present the Seis Pequenas Valsas de Esquina (Six Little Street Corner Waltes), dedicated to Jô (as he affectionately called me)." Maria Josephina Mignone - Wife and greatest interpreter of Mignone´s piano work.

I was lucky that one of my brasilians students bought the complete 12 pieces in Rio de Janeiro on my request and brought it over to Holland. In the local library they also tried to order the pianopieces. It failed because something went wrong with the payment. You have to pay in advance otherwise they won't send you anything., or perhaps they are corrupted.
