Karen's POV
"OMJ!!! It's the Jonas Brothers!!!" I heard from behind us. We were at a Pinkberry,
cuz Joe loves that place. "Crap! They found out!" I said really loudly. We started to stand from our chairs and grabbed our yummy food that we were no longer going to enjoy sitting down. There was a loud roar of footsteps and screams as we made our way out. "OMJ!!! They're with Britney and Caroline!" Then I thought to myself, crap, it really sucks to have famous friends. It was funny cuz I heard in the background someone asked if it was Britney Spears or the other one. I somehow managed to slip on a napki that was lying on the floor and fell on my butt extremely hard. I actually managed to fly in the air before falling, something I never thought was real.
"Ooww!! Joe, I can't stand up!" I yelled at him, the bone that was right above my butt was hurting too much.
"It's ok, I'm coming!" Joe said, he ran back towards me and picked me up and started running towards the door. We were riding on an Escalade since there were so many of us and managed to escape. "Ow, ow, ow, ow... Oh wait... OOOWWW!!!" I kept saying. "Aw, I'm sorry about the fall Kar." Caro said. "Ugh, you people are so annoying." I said while rolling my eyes. No one seemed to understand. "Man, the only friends I have are... Like you!" "I'm not following?" Nick said. "Famous! Freaking celebrities! I'm sorrounded my them! Omg now that I think about it, I'm the only normal person in this car!"
"Is that supposed to be a bad thing?" Britney said, she seemed to be upset, along with everyone else. "No, no. I'm sorry, It's just that, I'm the only 'non' celebrity here, and well It's weird to be running from place to place cuz your friends are being chased by girls." Most of the ride was silent, and the radio was off. But when Kevin finally turned it on, totally not to my surprise, the Jonas Brothers were playing. Kevin quickly freaked out and turned the channel... Britney... Then he just decided to turn it off.
"You know, I DO like those songs..." I said, I was trying to make them feel better, I didn't want them to be mad at me. "Yeah, but you probably listen to them enough times..." Joe said. It surprised me that he acted that way. What the heck? "By the way, Kevin continued, "You fell pretty bad back there, you sure you don't want to see a doctor?"
"Nah, it's happened before, It usually hurts for about three glorious days, and It'll be gone." When we got home, everyone pretty much went their different ways. Kitchen, rooms, living rooms... I went upstairs with Joe to his room. He closed the door behind me and turned away from me, with his head down. After what seemed like forever, Joe finally broke the silence. "I-I didn't know you felt that way..." I shot my eyes open, not expecting him to say that, and not thinking everyone was going to take it so bad. "Joe, you know that's not what I meant!" I yelled at him, I was angry that he'd think that I was sick of them. "Oh, yeah!? Then what did you mean!?" He yelled back, this time facing me. "All I'm saying, is that I wish I had some friends who weren't famous, so we could just talk, understand each other a bit more."
Probably, not the wisest choice of words. "Oh, so now we don't understand you!?" He continued. "Remember when Britney used to be your best friend!? And just like you!? And Caroline! When we met her, she was just like you! And Nick... When you met him... Wasn't he just like you?" I was speechless, I didn't know what to say. "So, does it really bother you that you have no normal friends... Or is it that you're just jealous..." My mouth dropped completely. "Jealous, that the people closest to you have moved up, but you've stayed. You're just another fan..."
I couldn't speak, literally. Not came out of my mouth and I felt the tears rolling down my cheeks. I slapped Joe across the face as hard as I could. He lifted up his hand, as if to hit me back, but he didn't. He tilted down his head, his bangs covering most of his face. I ran out the door and saw that the guys were coming up at that same moment. They must have heard the yells. But I just ran past them and right outside. It was pouring, I could barely see anything, and my butt hurt like hell, but I just kept running. I ran for what seemed like miles until I finally broke down crying on my knees, the pouring rain covering my tears.
