  • DUH. These lamps use several animated textures. It would not be possible to produce the effect I have created here with particles. Particles should be used with caution too, since the effect may not show in a club environment, where attachments and other effects are already using tons of particle based effects. Also, if any club owner is hurting for the 12 extra prims I used up to create the lava, he has bigger issues.

Further, you do know that wording things like you did are an insult, right?

  • Also by animated texture, I mean an alpha mapped texture of the lava bubbles pasted onto a flat plane, placed perpendicular to another one and applying a scrolling texture script.

  • lol.. I was just having fun with your wording.

Flat planes of animated textures would still not look 3d, like these do. I have some things animated that way, and sometimes it works fine. But for this, I preferred the results with prims.

  • Ok seriously calm down. I was just giving my opinion on what I saw. I don't recall even intending to insult you.

  • You do know you can save on prims if you use animated texture or particle effect right?
